Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Blake Clifton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garrett Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Blake Clifton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Garrett Day! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day shoots for a takedown but Clifton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A swing and a miss from Clifton. Clifton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Clifton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Day trying to hold on to Clifton's head to control him but Clifton postures up.
Day makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Day. Clifton preventing the sweep. Clifton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Day wants to stand up but Clifton is controlling him. Clifton could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clifton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Clifton wants to stand but Day has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Day escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Clifton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Clifton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Day throws his legs up looking for a submission but Clifton uses it to pass to side control.
Day gets back to half guard. Day wants to improve his position but Clifton is controlling well.
Day is looking to get back to full guard here but Clifton has managed to pass to side control instead. Day working to try and regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Clifton tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Day. Day has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Clifton escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Clifton! Day looks gassed! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Clifton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Clifton wants to stand but Day has his arm trapped. Day struggling a bit here. Day is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Clifton is staying active. Clifton moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Blake Clifton dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Clifton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Clifton jabbing away but nothing is landing. Some bone on bone action there as Day checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Day misses with a takedown attempt - Clifton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Clifton throws a leg kick but Day sees it coming and checks it nicely. Day looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Clifton is fending him off so far but Day persists. Nope, Clifton circles away and we're back to standing. Day on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Clifton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Day counters with a single leg into guard. Clifton didn't expect that. Day looking to pass the guard. Day trying to control the position from guard on top but Clifton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Day is breathing heavily. Day working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Clifton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Day on the ground. Day drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Clifton dives on top into guard. Day is wriggling around but Clifton manages to pass to half guard.
Clifton is figuring out what he wants to do next. Clifton wants to stand up but Day has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Clifton is controlling the pace.
Clifton tries to stand and escape but Day is controlling the position. Day is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Clifton controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Day wants to improve his position but Clifton is controlling well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Day looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Day wants to control but Clifton is keeping busy and won't allow it. Clifton wants to pass the guard but Day is defending well. Day actively working from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Blake Clifton will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Clifton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Day's hands. Day ducks under a wild hook from Clifton. Clifton throws a leg kick that is checked and Day counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Clifton wants to control but Day is keeping busy and won't allow it. Clifton is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Day looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Clifton is looking to control Day's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Clifton avoid being mounted? Day takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Day thows a huge punch but Clifton dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clifton works his way to full guard. Good work. Day looking to sit in guard and control but Clifton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Day has his foot on Clifton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clifton works his way back into a safe position though. Day is trying to keep Clifton in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Clifton won't allow Day to sweep him here. Day tries to strike from the bottom.

Clifton is looking to stand up but Day won't let him. Clifton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Clifton seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Day for as long as he can get away with. Clifton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Day is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Day looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Day can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Clifton controls the pace.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Garrett Day. I think Clifton has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
