Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 24 - 0, fighting out of London, Bjj Catch Wrestler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Philip Marcus! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcus throws a quick inside leg kick. No luck for Catch Wrestler with that takedown attempt. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marcus! But no joy. Catch Wrestler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marcus paws at him with a jab and circles away. Marcus looks like he wants to counter punch here. Catch Wrestler shoots in for a takedown but Marcus shows good takedown defense. Marcus lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Marcus paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Catch Wrestler has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bjj Catch Wrestler. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Catch Wrestler is looking to clinch. It seemed like Marcus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Catch Wrestler has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Marcus misses with a hook. Marcus has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Marcus throws a big shot that misses. Catch Wrestler goes for a double leg but Marcus avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marcus continues to drive forward. Catch Wrestler throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Catch Wrestler lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Marcus backwards. Marcus throws a hook but Catch Wrestler avoids it easily. Marcus wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Nice shot by Catch Wrestler. Marcus scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Catch Wrestler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marcus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Catch Wrestler dives in for a single leg takedown but Marcus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Marcus doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Marcus stalling in the clinch.
Marcus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Catch Wrestler with a poor takedown and Marcus counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Catch Wrestler wants to clinch and Marcus counters with a nice right hand that sends Catch Wrestler toppling to the canvas! Catch Wrestler scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Marcus finish him?!
Catch Wrestler is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Catch Wrestler tries to clinch up and Marcus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Oh Catch Wrestler is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Catch Wrestler moves in looking to clinch but Marcus pushes him off. Catch Wrestler seems to have got his legs back now. Catch Wrestler pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Marcus back to the cage. Catch Wrestler follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Catch Wrestler just misses with a punch to the body.
Marcus slips under a jab. Marcus throws a right and a left that Catch Wrestler avoids nicely. Catch Wrestler shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Philip Marcus dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Catch Wrestler fails with an attempt to clinch.

Catch Wrestler decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Marcus is looking for a sweep. Catch Wrestler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Marcus keeping control of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Catch Wrestler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marcus is just riding it out for now. Catch Wrestler eventually gives up the hold. Marcus keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Marcus wants to get back to his feet. Catch Wrestler missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Marcus wants to improve his position but Catch Wrestler is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ground and pound from Catch Wrestler. Catch Wrestler is looking to take a break and control but Marcus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Catch Wrestler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marcus defends it well. Catch Wrestler is trying to control the action in half guard but Marcus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Catch Wrestler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marcus pinned against the cage. Marcus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That was a close second round but I would say that Bjj Catch Wrestler will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round! Catch Wrestler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marcus but Marcus pushes him off and we're back to square one. Marcus uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Catch Wrestler has time to react. Catch Wrestler has a takedown stuffed. Marcus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marcus wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bjj Catch Wrestler. Marcus has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Catch Wrestler gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Marcus counters with a head kick from the bowels of hell that crumples Catch Wrestler! This one is all over!
