PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trouble Somer (ranked 1750 p4p, 2786 weight class) and Saint George (ranked 258 p4p, 373 weight class). Saint George told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Trouble Somer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

George gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Somer manages to break the clinch.
Somer connects with a crisp jab.
Somer clobbers George with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Somer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but George was well out of range. Poor timing from Somer.
George let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Somer misses the jab.
The fighters circling - George throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
George misses the shot to the body.
Somer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Somer throws an off balance right hand
and George counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Somer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
George misses with a right hand
and Somer counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps George thinking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Somer throws the left hand but George avoids the punch easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from George ! But no joy.

Somer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
George throws a predictable looking body shot
and George takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Somer throws a poor cross that misses
and George counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Somer lands with a shot to the body.
Nice body punch from Somer.
George slips under a jab.
George ducks under a wild hook from Somer.
George misses with an uppercut
and Somer counters with a lovely straight right hand!
George slips a straight right by Somer.
George is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Somer.
George takes a jab right on the kisser.

George is rocked!

This has been an exciting period of action!
George misses with a few strikes there.
Somer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Somer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between George 's hands.
George is still on wobbly legs! Can Somer finish him?
Somer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
George let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Somer sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through George 's defenses. It connects perfectly with George 's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
