PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between World Peace (ranked 1791 p4p, 1510 weight class) and Adam Bogo (ranked 130 p4p, 117 weight class). Peace comes to the cage accompanied by Crazy. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, World Peace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Bogo!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bogo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And Bogo tries to counter it with a takedown but Peace pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Peace misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Peace. Bogo does a little dance to reset his feet.
A head kick misses from Bogo.
Peace seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Peace is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bogo.
Peace throws a predictable looking body shot
and Bogo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bogo is looking to slow Peace down with leg kicks.
Peace throws a series of punches but Bogo moves out of range.
And Bogo tries to counter it with a takedown but Peace pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bogo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

World Peace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bogo lands a head kick. Peace smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Bogo is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Bogo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Peace tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Bogo has hold of one of Peace's legs. Peace is fighting the takedown attempt but Bogo gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Bogo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bogo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Peace knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Peace tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bogo trying to control the action but Peace is working from the bottom.
Peace sneaks back into half guard.
Bogo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peace keeps working.

Bogo seems to be looking for submissions.

Peace looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Bogo stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Peace to get to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Peace tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Peace throws a body shot but no joy.
Bogo lands a nice looking kick to the body. Peace takes a step back to recover.
Peace tries to close the distance and clinch but Bogo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And Bogo responds with a good body kick, but Peace manages to step out the way in time.
Bogo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peace.
Bogo goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Peace fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bogo manages to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Peace. Bogo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bogo fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Peace on the side of the head.
Nice sprawl there from Bogo as Peace shoots in.
Peace swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bogo.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Bogo dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Peace jabs Bogo to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A head kick misses from Bogo.
Peace dives in for a single leg takedown but Bogo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Bogo feints the counter takedown.

Bogo successfully pulls guard.

Peace drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bogo dives on top into guard.

Peace has momentary wrist control but Bogo slips an elbow through the middle.
Bogo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bogo landing some decent shots from guard.
Bogo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bogo postures up and lands a big shot to Peace's brow.

Bogo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bogo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peace swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Peace looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bogo has picked Peace up and slammed him! Peace can't keep hold of the triangle and Bogo manages to pass to side control!

Bogo is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Bogo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Peace is looking for a sweep.
Peace gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Peace working to try and regain half guard.

Bogo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Peace can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bogo lands a big shot there that rocks Peace but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bogo moves to the back position.

Bogo is cranking Peace's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Peace! He's tightened the choke and Peace is tapping out!
