Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kilo Maluga (ranked 1 p4p, 42 weight class) and Douglas Sampson (ranked 1 p4p, 8 weight class). Maluga comes into the arena with JUNGLE blaring out of the sound system. Sampson has chosen Sunshine (ft. Anthony Hamilton) - Twista as his entrance music. Kilo Maluga could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Douglas Sampson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 65 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kilo Maluga! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Sampson! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Nice shot lands for Sampson.
It looks like Kilo Maluga has been cut. Good work by Maluga as he checks the leg kick. Maluga lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Sampson misses with a straight right. It looked like Maluga wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Maluga throws a poor cross that misses
and Sampson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Maluga thinking. Maluga keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sampson. A quick step to the side and Maluga tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sampson tries a low kick but Maluga avoids it. A low kick from Maluga is predictable there and Maluga takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maluga misses with a body punch
enabling Sampson to counter with a crisp jab.
Kilo Maluga's cut is getting worse. Maluga fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Sampson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Maluga moves out of range of the strikes. Maluga is looking to counter with a body kick. Sampson misses with a double jab.
Maluga thinks about countering with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Sampson misses letting Maluga counter with a right hand. Maluga throws a leg kick that is checked and Sampson counters with a nice leg kick. Maluga moves out of range as Sampson throws a body kick.
Maluga misses with a left hand and Sampson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Maluga is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Sampson lands a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson moves in looking to clinch but Maluga pushes him off. Maluga throws a quick counter kick to the body but Sampson avoids it. Sampson takes one to the side of the head.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Maluga - that will leave a mark!
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Maluga avoids the head kick by Sampson.
Maluga jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Maluga ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sampson moves away. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sampson! But no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maluga throws the kick towards the body but Sampson avoids it. Sampson appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Maluga ducks under a wild hook from Sampson. Maluga swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Sampson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sampson scores with a jab to the jaw. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Douglas Sampson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kilo Maluga's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Maluga rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sampson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kilo Maluga's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Sampson in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Sampson is looking to slow Maluga down with leg kicks. A big left from Sampson misses. Maluga throws a counter high kick but Sampson was just alert enough to avoid it. Maluga throws a head kick that misses and Sampson counters with a lovely shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maluga throws a combination that misses and Sampson counters with a nice body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maluga has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Maluga there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jeez, Kilo Maluga's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Sampson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Maluga throws a lazy uppercut
and Sampson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kilo Maluga's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Douglas Sampson! Douglas Sampson is the new heavyweight champion! Douglas Sampson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
