Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ezekiel Marley (ranked 141 p4p, 1364 weight class) and Thoth Chontamenti (ranked 15 p4p, 157 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to WANTED. Chontamenti has chosen Five Finger Death Punch - Wrong Side of Heaven as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thoth Chontamenti!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chontamenti checks a low kick from Marley.
Chontamenti throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Marley cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Thoth Chontamenti has been cut.
Chontamenti throws a hook but Marley blocks it.

Marley drops Chontamenti with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Chontamenti looks back up at him and smiles so Marley waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Chontamenti looks for a takedown but Marley sprawls well.
Marley is looking to counter with head kicks.
Chontamenti scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chontamenti throws an overhand right that lands on Marley's shoulder, as Marley tries to avoid the shot.
Thoth Chontamenti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marley works Chontamenti's body with a nice hook.
Marley misses the shot to the body.
Chontamenti on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

It seemed like Chontamenti was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Marley throws a looping overhand right but Chontamenti ducks down to avoid it.
Marley looks to land a right hand but Chontamenti moved out of range.
Marley lands a nice looking body shot.
Marley paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

That has opened up Thoth Chontamenti's cut even more.

Marley cracks Chontamenti with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Marley has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Chontamenti to stand back up!
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Chontamenti has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Marley finds Chontamenti's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Chontamenti flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Marley lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Chontamenti will be OK.
