Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hendrix Cabrera (ranked 1279 p4p, 1207 weight class) and Vinicius Kicklighter (ranked 155 p4p, 149 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hendrix Cabrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vinicius Kicklighter!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabrera scoring well with a low kick there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cabrera.
Kicklighter throws out a counter right but Cabrera avoids it with no problem.
Cabrera misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kicklighter throws out a counter right but Cabrera avoids it with no problem.
Kicklighter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A jab from Cabrera misses.
Kicklighter stuffs the takedown.
Cabrera with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Cabrera throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kicklighter was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Cabrera lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cabrera throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kicklighter stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A slapping body kick lands there for Cabrera.
Cabrera throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kicklighter slips under a jab.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kicklighter! But no joy.

and Cabrera takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Hendrix Cabrera has been cut.
Vinicius Kicklighter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cabrera throws the left hand but Kicklighter avoids the punch easily.
Cabrera uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kicklighter.
Kicklighter avoids the body shot from Cabrera.
Kicklighter drops his hands momentarily and Cabrera takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Cabrera dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kicklighter. That did some damage!

The fighters circle momentarily. Cabrera darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

We've been hearing reports that Cabrera has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Kicklighter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kicklighter is pulling down on Cabrera's head. It's preventing any offense from Cabrera, at least for the moment.
Cabrera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kicklighter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cabrera is looking to advance position but Kicklighter has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Kicklighter wants to stand but Cabrera is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Cabrera wants to hold on but Kicklighter pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cabrera is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Cabrera has a closed guard, preventing Kicklighter from standing up.

Kicklighter gets to his feet - Cabrera follows without any prompting.
Cabrera avoids the head kick by Kicklighter.
Cabrera scores with a sloppy right hand. Kicklighter should have avoided that one.

Cabrera throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kicklighter was covering up waiting for the punch and Cabrera finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kicklighter is adopting a defensive guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cabrera gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Kicklighter counters with a nice uppercut.
Kicklighter throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cabrera keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kicklighter.
Cabrera looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Cabrera is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kicklighter can do to turn this around?

Kicklighter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cabrera.
Cabrera scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Cabrera connects with a looping right hand.
Cabrera shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kicklighter sprawls well. Kicklighter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cabrera gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cabrera lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kicklighter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kicklighter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Cabrera works to advance to full mount. Kicklighter defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Kicklighter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cabrera can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kicklighter is looking to escape.

Cabrera is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kicklighter is surviving well by controlling Cabrera's body position as best he can.

Cabrera jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kicklighter is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kicklighter and Cabrera has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Kicklighter stops Cabrera from passing to mount.
Kicklighter is trying to control Cabrera's posture but Cabrera avoids it.
Kicklighter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Cabrera tries for a kimura but Kicklighter is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Kicklighter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cabrera goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kicklighter rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cabrera's guard! Nice work there by Kicklighter!

Kicklighter decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hendrix Cabrera will probably get the nod.

That's time! Cabrera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cabrera throws a hook but Kicklighter avoids it easily.
Cabrera lands a nice looking kick to the body. Kicklighter takes a step back to recover.

Cabrera lands a jab to the nose.
Cabrera falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kicklighter counters with an inside leg kick.
Hendrix Cabrera is winning the standup battle so far.
Kicklighter takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cabrera changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kicklighter tries to avoid it but Cabrera manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kicklighter to the ground. Kicklighter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cabrera throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kicklighter.
Cabrera lands a leg kick that knocks Kicklighter off balance momentarily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kicklighter drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Cabrera dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cabrera throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Hendrix Cabrera showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cabrera has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
