The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Denver dives in and scores a takedown into Petrov 's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Denver advances position into side control!
Petrov is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Denver off and has taken his back!
Denver is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Petrov throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Denver escapes and throws Petrov 's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Denver is trying to get an arm triangle but Petrov is defending well.
Denver in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Denver postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Petrov looks a forlorn figure.
Denver lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Denver controlling the pace for now.
Petrov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Denver pulls Petrov in close to prevent any damage.
Petrov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Denver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Petrov is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Denver has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Petrov is looking to defend but Denver has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Petrov ! Denver pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Petrov taps out and this one is all over!
