Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Stark (ranked 1157 p4p, 806 weight class) and Jørgen Thrane (ranked 173 p4p, 121 weight class). Tony Stark has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thrane throws a leg kick that is checked

so Stark counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Thrane uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Stark tries to clinch there but Thrane circles away.
Stark bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stark feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Thrane looks to throw the jab but Stark is out of range.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Thrane counters with a stiff right hand.
Thrane throws out a loose jab but Stark uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stark looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Thrane stuffs the takedown.
Thrane lands with a kick to the ribs.

Stark looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thrane is fending him off so far but Stark persists. Nope, Thrane circles away and we're back to standing.

Stark shoots in looking for a takedown. Thrane tries to sprawl out of it but Stark keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thrane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Stark looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thrane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thrane wants it to stay on the feet.
Thrane scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Thrane misses with an uppercut. Stark saw that one coming.

Stark shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Thrane manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Stark is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thrane is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thrane has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Thrane throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Stark counters with a takedown into side control.
Stark misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stark tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Thrane regains half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stark lands a nice short elbow.

Stark is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Thrane is trying to stand back up but Stark is controlling him
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

A shot to the body from Thrane misses
and Stark counters with a low kick, right behind Thrane 's knee.
Stark doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Thrane counters with a big head kick but Stark shrugs it off.
Stark misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stark on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stark shoots in and gets a takedown into Thrane's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stark accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Thrane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Thrane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stark has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thrane has managed to get both his arms back between Stark's legs - danger averted.

Stark is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thrane defends well.

Stark throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Thrane escapes and throws Stark's legs to the side, diving into side control!

and Thrane counters with a nice leg kick.

It seemed like Thrane was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Thrane uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stark has time to react.

Thrane lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Stark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thrane tries to avoid it but Stark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thrane to the ground. Thrane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
