Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Averescu (ranked 1841 p4p, 999 weight class) and Bum Phillips (ranked 213 p4p, 129 weight class). Averescu comes to the cage accompanied by Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Bum Phillips enters the cage!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bum Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Phillips shoots in for a takedown but Averescu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A little feinted left hand from Averescu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Averescu leaves Phillips with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Phillips shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Averescu defends it nicely.
Dan Averescu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bum Phillips.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Averescu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Averescu looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Phillips closes the distance and clinches up with Averescu, looking for a takedown. Phillips pushes Averescu against the cage but Averescu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Phillips tries for a takedown but Averescu sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Phillips's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Phillips fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Averescu to the ground. Phillips is now in Averescu's guard.
Phillips slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Averescu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Averescu tries to get out of the position.
Averescu is trying to control Phillips's posture but Phillips avoids it.

Phillips has an Americana. Averescu didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Phillips is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Phillips hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
