Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Balink Tarlah (ranked 4378 p4p, 3994 weight class) and Gaultier Girard (ranked 473 p4p, 441 weight class). Gaultier Girard will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Balink Tarlah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 36 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gaultier Girard! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Girard tries for a takedown but Tarlah sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Girard drops his hands momentarily and Tarlah takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Girard fails with the takedown. Girard is looking to clinch. Girard uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tarlah. Tarlah throws a lazy right hand but Girard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Balink Tarlah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Girard clinches up against the cage. Tarlah has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Girard is trying to keep an underhook but Tarlah manages to get the takedown into half guard. Girard actively working from the bottom here. Tarlah working the head and body with strikes. Girard tries to get to full guard but Tarlah has control of the leg. Tarlah is figuring out what he wants to do next. Girard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tarlah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tarlah connects with a nice short shot to Girard's temple.

Tarlah working over Girard with some ground and pound. Girard looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Tarlah takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Girard is looking to improve his position.
Girard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Tarlah scoring with strikes to the body and head. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Tarlah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Tarlah winds up and cracks Girard with a swinging punch to the side of the head. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Girard can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarlah is nestled in close to Girard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Tarlah is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Girard is rocked! Tarlah scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Girard is still in real trouble! Can Tarlah finish him? Tarlah seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Tarlah is nestled in close to Girard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tarlah is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Girard is hurt! He's hurt bad - Tarlah fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Girard from any more punishment! Congratulations to Tarlah! Great finish!
