Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bigg Jyant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Harvey Smith!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jyant clinches up against the cage.
Smith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jyant just stands there and leans against the cage.
Smith jumps into guard, dragging Jyant to the mat.
Jyant wants to get up but he can't break Smith's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jyant knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jyant manages to get himself to full guard.
Smith looking to pass the guard.
Smith passes Jyant's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Jyant is in trouble now - Smith has advanced to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Smith forces the positional change into back control.
Smith is working for a rear naked choke. Jyant is not defending it well and Smith has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Jyant refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Jyant's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Harvey Smith!
Harvey Smith bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
