Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luuk Benjamin (ranked 1036 p4p, 2235 weight class) and Diogo Martins (ranked 96 p4p, 190 weight class). Martins has chosen Monte Tiene Garabato as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luuk Benjamin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Diogo Martins! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martins works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Martins darts in trying to clinch letting Benjamin counter with a right hand. Martins throws a head kick that half lands.
We've been told by Benjamin's head coaches at Bushido Martial Arts that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Martins tries to clinch and Benjamin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Benjamin misses with a straight left. Martins cracks Benjamin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Martins throws a sloppy head kick and Benjamin moves out of range easily. Martins sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Benjamin misses with an uppercut. Martins saw that one coming. Benjamin punishes Martins's body with a nice straight punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Benjamin avoids the head kick by Martins.
Martins has Benjamin up against the cage in a clinch.
Martins with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Benjamin struggles to land a body shot inside as Martins controls his hands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Benjamin lands with a left to the head. Martins with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Martins lands a good knee to the midsection. Benjamin won't want to take too many of those. Benjamin pushes Martins back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Martins misses with a knee to the head. Martins tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A short uppercut from Benjamin. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Martins. Benjamin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Martins has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Benjamin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Martins manages to avoid it. Martins clinches up against the cage. Benjamin throws a punch but it's blocked by Martins. Benjamin lands a right hand. A nice left hand lands by Benjamin.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Benjamin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Benjamin throws a looping overhand right but Martins ducks down to avoid it. Martins throws an off balance right hand
and Benjamin counters with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Decent striking displayed by Martins there. Nice straight punches there by Benjamin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Benjamin. Benjamin scores with a nice head shot.
Martins is rocked! Martins swings and misses with a shot to the body and Benjamin counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Luuk Benjamin! A relieved looking Luuk Benjamin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
