Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ines Lato (ranked 24144 p4p, 5046 weight class) and James River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James River !

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lato tries to keep at a distance but River has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lato tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. River smiles and moves away.
Lato swings away with a body shot that misses
and River counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that River has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lato takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Lato throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
River throws a body punch but Lato moves out of range.
Lato steps to the side to avoid the strikes from River .

River steps into range and cracks Lato with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Lato flops backwards and River dives into his guard looking to finish!

Lato is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
River slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Oh Lato is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
River works a leg free and moves into half guard.

River is trying for a kimura here. Lato looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! River wins by kimura!
