Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Bakarow (ranked 3729 p4p, 3656 weight class) and Waheed Saqqaf (ranked 438 p4p, 431 weight class). Saqqaf comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Endless River - Eternal Insomnia kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Waheed Saqqaf will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergey Bakarow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Waheed Saqqaf! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saqqaf misses with a few strikes there.

Saqqaf gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Saqqaf looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saqqaf manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bakarow manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. My spies in Ludus Magnus inform me that Saqqaf has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Saqqaf scores with a kick to the midsection. Bakarow fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bakarow has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Saqqaf. Saqqaf throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Bakarow is rocked! Bakarow throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Oh Bakarow is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Saqqaf ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Bakarow's jaw. Bakarow's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Saqqaf does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Waheed Saqqaf!
