Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Choke (ranked 43 p4p, 48 weight class) and Swole Ricky Martin (ranked 9 p4p, 10 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Swole Ricky Martin!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Choke counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Choke not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Choke is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Martin sees it coming and defends easily.

Choke is trying to work for a kimura but Martin is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Choke looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Choke is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martin is just riding it out for now. Choke eventually gives up the hold.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Choke seems to be looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Choke thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Martin's head.

Choke has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Martin tries to roll over but Choke keeps him under control.
Choke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Choke is looking for a kimura but Martin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Choke to get the leverage.

Choke is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Martin defends it well.
Martin is looking to improve his position.
Choke looks to land a strike but Martin avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Martin has control of Choke's left arm, preventing Choke from doing any damage.
Choke is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Choke trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Choke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Martin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Choke, into his guard.


Choke has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Martin doesn't defend quickly enough and Choke has managed to lock this one up! Can Martin escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Choke on a fantastic submission victory.
