Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marski Martola (ranked 1502 p4p, 1400 weight class) and Juan Carlos (ranked 167 p4p, 159 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marski Martola! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Carlos! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlos misses with a straight left. Carlos feints and as Martola raises his hands in defense, Carlos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Carlos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Carlos trying to control the position from guard on top but Martola is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carlos won't allow Martola to sweep him here. Martola has his foot on Carlos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carlos works his way back into a safe position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carlos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Carlos trying to control the action but Martola is working from the bottom. Carlos misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martola is not content to let Carlos control the position. Carlos tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Carlos happy to just control the position for now. Martola tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Martola managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Carlos.
Martola sneaks back into half guard. Carlos tries to pass to full mount but Martola defends it. Carlos wants to take a breather but Martola is having none of it. Carlos content to control rather than advance. Martola wants to improve his position but Carlos is controlling well.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlos is just content to waste time from the top position. Martola takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Carlos tries to free his leg and advance position but Martola is retaining full guard. Carlos advances to half guard. Martola is refusing to be controlled, as Carlos sits in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carlos moves nicely into side control. Martola is trying to work for a sweep but Carlos has mounted him! Carlos lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martola is wriggling around trying to escape.
Poor strikes thrown by Carlos there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Carlos unloading with bombs! Carlos throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carlos in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Carlos sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Carlos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Carlos has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Martola's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carlos trying to control but Martola is having none of it. Martola is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Carlos dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Martola walks forward, straight into a front kick from Carlos. Martola throws a hook but Carlos blocks it. Carlos moves out of range of the strikes. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Carlos! But no joy. Carlos thows a left - swing and a miss! Martola is looking to counter with head kicks. Carlos feints and as Martola raises his hands in defense, Carlos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Juan Carlos has got the better of the ground game so far. Carlos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Carlos trying to control the position from guard on top but Martola is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martola working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carlos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carlos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Martola's guard. Martola manages to get to full guard.
Carlos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Martola working for a triangle but Carlos defends it easily.
Carlos has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carlos sitting in guard, not really doing much. Carlos preventing the sweep. Martola pulls Carlos in to control the position. Carlos engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Martola looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlos throws a strike but Martola rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Martola is looking to work some ground and pound but Carlos has wrist control. Carlos throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Carlos isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Martola stacks Carlos on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Martola! Carlos stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Martola tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Carlos is looking to reverse the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martola wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carlos keeps working. Carlos defending against the ground and pound. The ground and pound from Martola seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Martola works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Martola trying to control the position but Carlos is working away. Martola working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Carlos keeps Martola under control for a moment. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Marski Martola dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round! Carlos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Martola. A head kick by Carlos misses and Martola counters with a stiff right hand. Carlos throws a right hand that misses
and Martola counters with a nice uppercut. Carlos shoots in for a double leg but Martola sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Martola is looking for a counter combo. Carlos tries to land a body kick and Martola counters with a nice uppercut. Carlos avoids the head kick by Martola.
And Carlos tries to counter it with a takedown but Martola pushes his down on his head and steps out. Juan Carlos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters circling - Martola throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A clash of legs there as Carlos blocks the low kick. Martola misses with a takedown attempt - Carlos sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martola looking to land some kicks to the body here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carlos lands a nice hook to Martola's body. Martola takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nice shot lands for Carlos. Carlos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A low kick from Carlos is predictable there and Martola cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Martola scores with a jab to the head.
Carlos throws a body punch but Martola moves out of range. As Carlos looks to move away, Martola throws a big counter combo but Carlos just gets out of the way. Marski Martola is winning the standup battle so far. Carlos scores with a nice body kick.
Carlos connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Martola's hands. Nice uppercut there from Martola. Some wild striking there from Martola.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Martola manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Martola looking for a guillotine here but Carlos defends easily.
Martola keeping moving, preventing Carlos from controlling successfully. Carlos is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Carlos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlos chips away with some ground and pound. Carlos content to stall in guard here. Martola working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carlos. Carlos looking to sit in guard and control but Martola gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Carlos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Carlos is trying to keep Martola in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martola postures up in Carlos's guard and throws a big left but Carlos blocks it. Carlos is pulling down on Martola's head to control his posture. Carlos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Carlos is trying to control the position but Martola postures up. Carlos pulls Martola in close to prevent any damage. Martola preventing the sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carlos is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The crowd cheers as Carlos lands an impressive looking overhand right. Martola doesn't seem phased though.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marski Martola. I think Martola has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
