The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin scores with a kick to the body.
Martin feints and then cracks Kalske's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kalske down.
Kalske tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Martin was well out of range. Poor timing from Kalske.

and Kalske counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kalske moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A nice side step and Kalske releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Kalske drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Martin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kalske has Martin in his guard.

Kalske is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

I was talking to Martin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Martin lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kalske or not.
Kalske is breathing heavily.

Kalske's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Martin has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

A looping hook to the body misses from Kalske. Martin does a little dance to reset his feet.

Martin drops Kalske with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kalske looks back up at him and smiles so Martin waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Martin circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Kalske to the canvas! Kalske doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Martin keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
