PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Bomstaerk (ranked 918 p4p, 1569 weight class) and Van Peta (ranked 121 p4p, 210 weight class). Peta comes into a darkened arena with his song building. O Retrô Ativo - Heróis do Status Quo kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

And Peta tries to counter it with a takedown but Bomstaerk pushes his down on his head and steps out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Peta goes for a double leg but Bomstaerk avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bomstaerk continues to drive forward.

Peta feints and as Bomstaerk raises his hands in defense, Peta changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Peta working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Bomstaerk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peta gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bomstaerk manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peta manages to get himself to full guard.

Bomstaerk has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Peta should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Bomstaerk has tightened it up now! Peta should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
