Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Milo Andrianakis (ranked 22 p4p, 67 weight class) and Janko Godwin (ranked 4 p4p, 7 weight class). Andrianakis comes to the cage accompanied by The Andy Milonakis Theme Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Janko Godwin!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godwin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Andrianakis closes the distance and pushes Godwin back into the cage.

Godwin has clasped his hands together around Andrianakis's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Andrianakis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Andrianakis wants to get back to his feet but Godwin is dominant here and he's now got Andrianakis's back!

Godwin is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Andrianakis defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Godwin has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Andrianakis has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Godwin has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Andrianakis! Can he survive? No! He's out! Godwin gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Janko Godwin!
Janko Godwin is the new middleweight champion!
A relieved looking Janko Godwin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Milo Andrianakis was interviewed post fight and said 'I had sadness for breakfast'.
