Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Janko Godwin (ranked 549 p4p, 426 weight class) and Lutalo Masamba (ranked 73 p4p, 58 weight class). Masamba has chosen Conversations (Skeler Remix) - Juice WRLD as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Janko Godwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lutalo Masamba!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godwin slips a straight right by Masamba.
Godwin bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Masamba's head backwards.

It looks like Lutalo Masamba has been cut.
Godwin looks to score with a jab to the body but Masamba is just out of range.
Masamba is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Godwin with a body shot.
Godwin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Masamba throws a looping overhand right but Godwin ducks down to avoid it.
Godwin was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Lutalo Masamba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Godwin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Godwin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Masamba's head.
Masamba wants to stand and escape but Godwin is having none of it.
Godwin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Godwin lands a couple of digs.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Godwin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Masamba is looking to stand up but Godwin isn't so interested in that idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Godwin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Masamba's head.
Godwin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Masamba wants to get back to his feet but Godwin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Godwin with a nice head shot there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Godwin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Masamba wants to stand but Godwin is controlling the position.

Masamba has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Godwin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Masamba.
Godwin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Masamba tries to bench press Godwin off him but Godwin keeps the position.
Masamba is looking to get back to his feet here but Godwin is keeping cool and he's managed to take Masamba's back.
Godwin lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Masamba felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The referee is taking a good look at Masamba as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Godwin!

Masamba is rocked!
Masamba is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Godwin off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Godwin is landing big shots and Masamba is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!

A relieved looking Janko Godwin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
