PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harun Aydin (ranked 4001 p4p, 2660 weight class) and Kieth Stokes (ranked 412 p4p, 321 weight class). Aydin comes to the cage accompanied by Mockingbird - Eminem. On his way into the cage it seems that Harun Aydin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Harun Aydin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harun Aydin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kieth Stokes!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stokes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The crowd cheers as Aydin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stokes doesn't seem phased though.
Aydin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Stokes on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Stokes ducks under a wild hook from Aydin.

Stokes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Aydin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Stokes tries to advance to mount but Aydin denies him.
Aydin is looking to reverse the position.
Aydin avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Stokes.
Stokes tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Aydin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stokes wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A lull in the action here as Stokes stalls from top position.
Aydin is looking to regain half guard here but Stokes keeps moving and retains side control.
We've been hearing good reports from Aydin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee asks Stokes politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Stokes prefers to stall for the moment though.

Aydin is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Stokes has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Stokes breaks Aydin's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aydin has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Stokes doesn't defend quickly enough and Aydin has managed to lock this one up! Can Stokes escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Aydin on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Harun Aydin!
