Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Adams (ranked 1357 p4p, 1207 weight class) and Roger Field (ranked 185 p4p, 167 weight class). Field is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Eastbound and Down. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Field missing with a left hand there. Adams was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Field throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Adams .
Adams moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Field cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Adams shoots for a double leg takedown but Field sprawls well. He's pushed Adams 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We've been hearing reports that Adams has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Adams shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Field is trying to defend but Adams finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Sloppy strikes from Adams . Those never looked like landing.
A nice side step and Field releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Adams bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Field looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Field misses with an uppercut. Adams saw that one coming.

Adams shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Field eats them both and turns towards Adams to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

No joy there for Adams , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Field lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Adams takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Adams drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Adams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Field is fending him off so far but Adams persists. Nope, Field circles away and we're back to standing.
Field lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Adams goes down and covers up as Field starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
