Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andor Kovacs (ranked 2254 p4p, 2083 weight class) and Tuur Carlier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Andor Kovacs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tuur Carlier!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovacs is looking to clinch but Carlier is avoiding it.
Carlier misses with a right hand
and Kovacs counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Carlier gets tackled into the cage by Kovacs. Kovacs maintains the clinch.
Carlier is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kovacs pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Carlier tries for a takedown but Kovacs manages to get underhooks.
Kovacs displaying some good clinch control by pressing Carlier up against the cage.
Carlier wants to take the fight to the mat but Kovacs manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Andor Kovacs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tuur Carlier.
Carlier has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kovacs after a bit of a struggle.
Carlier has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kovacs avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kovacs manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carlier falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kovacs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kovacs is looking to clinch but Carlier is avoiding it.
Carlier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kovacs was well out of range. Poor timing from Carlier.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Carlier throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Kovacs looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Carlier is controlling Kovacs's trapped leg to prevent Kovacs from advancing to side control.
Kovacs sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Carlier defending well though.

Kovacs decides to return to a standing position.

Kovacs shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Carlier's guard.

Kovacs is sitting in close to Carlier's body. Carlier has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Kovacs is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Kovacs is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Carlier.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tuur Carlier!
Tuur Carlier gave a mention to Fantasy Threads in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
