Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Murphy (ranked 4220 p4p, 5652 weight class) and Roy Hayden (ranked 455 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shaun Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Hayden! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayden throws a lazy uppercut
and Murphy counters with a stiff right hand. Hayden fails to land the takedown. A jab lands there for Murphy. Hayden fails with the takedown and Hayden takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Murphy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Murphy wants it to stay on the feet. Shaun Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Hayden. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hayden. Hayden shoots for a double leg takedown but Murphy sprawls well. He's pushed Hayden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A little feinted left hand from Murphy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Murphy feints a jab promting Hayden to slip. Murphy then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hayden slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Roy Hayden has been cut. Murphy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hayden throws a strike from the bottom but Murphy passes into side control!
Murphy trying to control the action but Hayden is working from the bottom. Hayden takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Murphy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hayden keeps working. Murphy lands a nice forearm strike. Murphy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hayden struggling a bit here. Murphy controls the position from side control. Murphy scores with punches from side control. Hayden on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Hayden is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Murphy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy landing strikes. Hayden is trying to get back to half guard. A lull in the action here as Murphy stalls from top position. Hayden is looking to reverse the position. Murphy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hayden keeps working. Murphy cracks Hayden with a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hayden regains half guard. Hayden is looking to improve his position.
Hayden looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murphy trying to control the action but Hayden is working from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hayden can do anything to dispel that myth. Hayden is trying to stand back up but Murphy is controlling him
Murphy uses his free foot to push down on Hayden's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hayden. Murphy has hold of Hayden's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hayden manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hayden is wriggling around trying to escape.
Murphy landing punches. Murphy scoring with strikes but Hayden is staying in there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murphy fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Hayden really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murphy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hayden tries to reverse the position but Murphy maintains control. Murphy trying to control but Hayden is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy content just to control the position here. Murphy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hayden manages to avoid the submission attempt. Murphy is looking to take a break and control but Hayden is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Murphy works to advance to full mount. Hayden defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shaun Murphy dominated that round. The cut man is working on Roy Hayden's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. A lazy left from Murphy finds it's target. Hayden takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Hayden throws a left and a right that both miss
and Murphy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Murphy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hayden stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Roy Hayden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murphy avoids the head kick by Hayden.
Hayden tries to close the distance and clinch up but Murphy swats him away and circles back towards the center. Shaun Murphy is winning the standup battle so far. Murphy shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hayden eats them both and turns towards Murphy to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
That has opened up Roy Hayden's cut even more. Murphy lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Hayden throws a head kick that misses. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hayden takes a shot right to the bread basket. Hayden is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Murphy. Murphy stalks Hayden and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hayden's face. Hayden staggers backwards, shaken.
Hayden is rocked! Murphy walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Hayden drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Murphy swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Hayden's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shaun Murphy!
