Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Donny Knightley!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ma Bong Sik!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Knightley ducks right into an uppercut from Bong Sik.
Bong Sik throws an off balance right hand
and Knightley counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Bong Sik throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Knightley counters with a crisp one two that drops Bong Sik! Knightley thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Bong Sik to his feet! Bong Sik is in big trouble!
Bong Sik darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Bong Sik throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Knightley needs to keep his hands up - Bong Sik had a free shot at his head there.
Knightley checks a leg kick nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bong Sik throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Knightley to counter with a crisp jab.
Bong Sik smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ma Bong Sik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knightley tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Bong Sik misses with a hook. Knightley ducked under it nicely.
Knightley is looking to counter with head kicks.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Knightley moves out of range of the leg kick from Bong Sik.
Bong Sik scores with a jab to the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Knightley tries to move into range but Bong Sik moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Crack! A monster head kick from Bong Sik and Knightley falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Bong Sik!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ma Bong Sik!
