Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waiting tries for a takedown but Penn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Waiting fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Penn sprawls well initially but Waiting persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Penn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Waiting is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Penn is trying to maintain the position but Waiting is very close to passing his half guard.
Penn is doing well to control the position and prevent Waiting from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Penn actively working from the bottom here.
Waiting wants to work for an arm triangle but Penn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Waiting looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Penn trying to hold on to Waiting's head to control him but Waiting postures up.

Penn is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Waiting's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Waiting's back!
Waiting trying to control the hands but Penn won't let him.

Penn is not going to allow Waiting to sit and survive in this position.

Penn is riding his opponent, not letting Waiting buck him off.
Penn has the hooks in. Waiting is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Penn passes his arm under Waiting's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Waiting taps!

Messiah Penn tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
