Hawthorne has chosen Schism by Tool as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawthorne looks to land a left hand but Mineiro moved out of range nicely.
Hawthorne misses with a looping right.
Mineiro tries to counter with a takedown but Hawthorne is quick to defend against it.
Mineiro shoots in and drives through. Hawthorne sprawls well.
Hawthorne looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Hawthorne lands an overhand right.
Mineiro slips under a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mineiro takes the fight into the clinch.

Mineiro has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hawthorne uses from the top position.
Mineiro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hawthorne is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
