Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Wesley Hardin (ranked 1062 p4p, 918 weight class) and Peter Beardsley (ranked 63 p4p, 51 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Wesley Hardin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Beardsley!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardin throws a jab but it's blocked by Beardsley.

Beardsley darts in and clinches Hardin up against the cage.
Beardsley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hardin walks away with a smile on his face. Beardsley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Beardsley closes the distance and pushes Hardin back into the cage.

Beardsley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hardin uses from the top position.
Hardin wants to get up but he can't break Beardsley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hardin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beardsley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hardin has managed to get both his arms back between Beardsley's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round but I would say that John Wesley Hardin will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Hardin throws a body punch but Beardsley moves out of range.
Hardin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beardsley moves away.
Beardsley now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Hardin lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Beardsley is trying to pull guard but Hardin has him pressed against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Hardin scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hardin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Beardsley backwards.
Hardin misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hardin lands a body shot in the clinch.
Hardin lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Beardsley.
Beardsley jumps guard but Hardin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Hardin gets through Beardsley's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Hardin doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beardsley takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

and Hardin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Hardin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hardin just misses with a punch to the body.

Beardsley steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Hardin.
Hardin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Beardsley can do to turn this around?

Beardsley counters with a body kick.
Beardsley's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hardin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Beardsley scrambles back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hardin drops Beardsley with a beautiful combination! Beardsley stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hardin is looking for the KO!

Beardsley has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Beardsley there as he acknowledges the shot.

Hardin lands a big uppercut and Beardsley crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Beardsley looks OK. Hardin waves Beardsley back to his feet!

Hardin lands a big right hand that sends Beardsley crashing to the mat! Hardin stays standing though and waves Beardsley back to his feet!

The cut above Peter Beardsley's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Crack! Hardin connects with the perfect overhand right and Beardsley falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Hardin!
