Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mario Simbolon (ranked 4099 p4p, 4018 weight class) and Tommy Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 475 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mario Simbolon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tommy Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simbolon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Simbolon lands a glancing blow to the side of Anderson's head.

Anderson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Simbolon is in trouble now - Anderson has advanced to mount!
Anderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
A nice elbow there by Anderson.

Simbolon tries to lock up and control but Anderson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Simbolon tries to control Anderson's body but Anderson pushes him off. Simbolon squirms to his side and now Anderson has his back!

Anderson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Simbolon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Simbolon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson on the ground.

Simbolon is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Anderson.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Simbolon is trying to get back to his feet but Anderson has full control of the position and if anything, Simbolon has just worked his way into a worse spot.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Anderson is looking for the choke from the back position but Simbolon is controlling his hands well.

Anderson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Simbolon is really stuck here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Anderson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Anderson fails with the takedown.
Simbolon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Simbolon scores with a punch to the head.
Simbolon bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Anderson's head backwards.
Simbolon lands a nice shot to the body.
Simbolon lands with a hook. Anderson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Anderson is rocked!
Simbolon lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Anderson head around and knocks him out cold! Simbolon hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mario Simbolon!
Our winner, Mario Simbolon, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
