PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bagel Boss (ranked 1701 p4p, 1843 weight class) and Ben Reed (ranked 204 p4p, 220 weight class). Boss's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 6 Foot 7 Foot. Ben Reed will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bagel Boss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 24 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Reed!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boss bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Reed's head backwards.
Reed steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Boss.
Boss jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Reed swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Boss misses with a lunging right hand
and Reed counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Reed lands with a shot to the body.
Reed throws a jab but it's blocked by Boss.
Boss appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Boss throws a lazy right hand but Reed sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Reed connects with a body shot.
Reed throws a body shot but no joy.
Reed with a nice calf kick.
Reed blocks a jab.
Reed stuns Boss with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Boss throws a shot from downtown. Reed moves away and avoids it.
Reed fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reed looks to land a right hand but Boss moved out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Reed. Boss does a little dance to reset his feet.
Reed is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Boss rather than just go for the knockout.
Reed tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Boss is able to avoid easily.
We've been told by Boss's head coaches at 3Band MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Boss jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Good standup being displayed there by Boss as he connects with a hook.
Reed pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Boss walks into a straight right hand from Reed.
Boss tries a head kick but it misses.
Reed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Boss misses with a looping right.
Reed slips a jab and a cross from Boss.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Reed! But no joy.
Reed lands a glancing blow to the side of Boss's head.
Boss on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Boss has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Reed.
Reed throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Reed has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Reed moves into range and connects with a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Boss tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reed is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Boss on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Reed throws a leg kick but Boss moved away.

Reed scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Reed cracks Boss with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ben Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reed misses the jab.
Reed throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Boss's head.
Boss throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Boss avoids a kick to the body.
Reed defending well as Boss loads up on a big left hand.
Boss connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Boss is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Boss throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Boss throws a lazy uppercut
and Reed counters with a nice uppercut.
Reed looks to throw the jab but Boss is out of range.
Boss fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Reed has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Reed swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Boss.
Reed scores with a hook.
Boss takes one on the button.
Boss misses with a leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice uppercut lands for Boss. That snapped Reed's head back.
Reed throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Boss comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Boss looks to land a body kick but Reed moved away.
Reed throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Boss counters with a straight right hand.
Boss throws a shot from downtown. Reed moves away and avoids it.
Boss keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Reed lands a glancing blow to the side of Boss's head.
Boss takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Reed takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Reed misses with a body kick.
Reed lands with an overhand left.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boss pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reed looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Reed explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Boss throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Reed.
Reed lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Boss checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Reed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reed has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Reed misses with a double jab.
Reed is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Boss had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Reed scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Reed loads up on a big right hand but Boss slips the punch.
Boss throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A swing and a miss from Boss.
Boss moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Boss connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Reed's hands.

Reed is rocked!
Reed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boss circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Reed tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Boss wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bagel Boss!
During a confident post fight interview, Bagel Boss thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
