Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Bolleke (ranked 98 p4p, 274 weight class) and Dexter Roussel (ranked 15 p4p, 36 weight class). Bolleke kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is RGP - DANG DIGGI BANG. Roussel has chosen Manau - J'ai laissé là bas as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 19 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar Bolleke! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dexter Roussel! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bolleke misses the shot to the body. Bolleke bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bolleke is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Bolleke fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Roussel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Bolleke loads up on a big right hand but Roussel slips the punch. Bolleke swings away with a body shot that misses
and Roussel counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bolleke misses the jab. Roussel takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bolleke throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Roussel walks into a stiff left hand from Bolleke. Bolleke uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Roussel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Good exchange - Bolleke coming out on top.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Roussel takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Roussel gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bolleke. A telegraphed right hand from Roussel misses the target. Bolleke stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
That has opened up Dexter Roussel's cut even more. Roussel misses with a straight left. Bolleke drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bolleke working the ground and pound.

Bolleke is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Bolleke missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Roussel punching from the bottom.

Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Bolleke landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Roussel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Roussel is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bolleke is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Roussel tries to roll over but Bolleke keeps him under control. Bolleke slips a nice elbow through Roussel's hands, connecting with Roussel's forehead. Bolleke working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bolleke is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

He's hooked one of Bolleke's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bolleke's back! Bolleke manages to reverse the position and now he's in Roussel's guard. Nice work there by Bolleke.

Bolleke gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Roussel. Bolleke throws a big shot that misses. Roussel lands with a hook. Bolleke tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Roussel takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Bolleke connects with a right hand. Roussel shakes it off. Roussel stuffs the takedown. A slow jab from Roussel misses its intended target. Bolleke shoots for a takedown but Roussel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bolleke lands with a nice body punch. Bolleke bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Roussel's head.
The cut above Dexter Roussel's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Oscar Bolleke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roussel moves out of range as Bolleke strikes. Bolleke misses with a wild body shot. Roussel slips a jab from Bolleke. Bolleke looks to score with a jab to the body but Roussel is just out of range. Roussel might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Roussel tests Bolleke's chin there with a solid looking shot. Roussel keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bolleke. Roussel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bolleke. Roussel scores with a decent looking hook. Bolleke shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Roussel's guard. Bolleke keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Roussel's head. Bolleke won't allow Roussel to sweep him here. Bolleke postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bolleke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Roussel can do to turn this around? Bolleke passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Roussel is trying to control Bolleke's posture but Bolleke avoids it. We've been hearing that Bolleke has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Roussel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bolleke is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Roussel is looking to control Bolleke's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Roussel avoid being mounted? Roussel is looking for a sweep. Bolleke is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Roussel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Bolleke throws a strike but Roussel rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Nice move. Bolleke wants to control but Roussel is keeping him busy. Roussel wants to improve his position but Bolleke is controlling well.

That made a horrendous noise. Dexter Roussel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Roussel lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Bolleke scores with a hook to the body. Roussel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bolleke connects with a body shot that sends Roussel's belly button to the back. Roussel misses with a wild body shot. Roussel drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Dexter Roussel's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Bolleke shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Roussel is trying to defend but Bolleke finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Bolleke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roussel keeps working. Roussel is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bolleke's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bolleke's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bolleke covers up after that shot from Roussel.
Bolleke tries to escape but Roussel has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Roussel throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Bolleke!

Roussel scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Bolleke is looking for a way out. Roussel gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Roussel is punishing Bolleke with strikes - can he finish him?! Bolleke rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Roussel lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Bolleke quite badly. Bolleke pulls Roussel in close trying to recover. Roussel postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Bolleke on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Bolleke doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dexter Roussel! Dexter Roussel is the new middleweight champion! Dexter Roussel decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
