Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mae Joon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anders Pettersson!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Chris Dean and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Joon lands in his opponent's guard.
Joon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pettersson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pettersson has escaped and now he's on top!
Joon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pettersson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Joon looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pettersson passes into side control.
Pettersson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joon tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Joon is working hard here to advance position.
Joon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pettersson off and has taken his back!
Joon sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Pettersson taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mae Joon!
Our winner, Mae Joon, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
