The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andrade throws a body kick that misses
and Cortes makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Andrade really felt that one!

Andrade has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cortes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Andrade thuds his right hand into Cortes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cortes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Cortes with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Andrade to score with a decent uppercut.

It seemed like Cortes was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
