PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Philip Marcus (ranked 185 p4p, 222 weight class) and Lars Kay (ranked 16 p4p, 19 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Philip Marcus!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lars Kay!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kay throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kay scores with a nice right hand.

Kay throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marcus was covering up waiting for the punch and Kay finishes the takedown easily into guard.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Marcus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Kay might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Horrible takedown attempt by Kay or perhaps it was just good defense by Marcus, which made it look bad.

Well Marcus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
