Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauro Okongwu (ranked 44 p4p, 188 weight class) and White Cole (ranked 4 p4p, 23 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Okongwu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Show Stop - REASON. White Cole will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauro Okongwu! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, White Cole! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cole throws the left hand but Okongwu avoids the punch easily. Nice straight punches there by Cole. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cole.
It looks like Mauro Okongwu has been cut. Cole doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Cole throws an off balance right hand
and Okongwu counters with a good low kick that Cole was not able to check. Cole misses with an uppercut
and Okongwu counters with a thumping low kick. Cole throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Okongwu sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A left lands for Okongwu.
It looks like White Cole has been cut. Okongwu lands a nice shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Okongwu throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Cole counters with a nice body shot. Cole swings and misses with a shot to the body and Okongwu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Okongwu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cole manages to avoid it. Cole takes one to the chin there. Okongwu wants to slow Cole down by chopping away at his legs. Okongwu keeps Cole at a distance using the push kick. Okongwu misses with a jab to the body
and Cole makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cole misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Okongwu misses with a head kick.
Cole lands with a cross. Cole works the jab nicely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Okongwu scores with a sloppy right hand. Cole should have avoided that one. Cole lands with a nice combination. Okongwu backs away looking to recover. Cole swings widly with a right hand
and Okongwu counters with a nice uppercut.
That has opened up White Cole's cut even more. Okongwu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. No joy there for Cole, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jab, jab by Okongwu - just one landing. Cole uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Okongwu has time to react. Okongwu throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cole counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Cole misses with an uppercut
and Okongwu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The cut above White Cole's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Okongwu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cole throws out the jab. Okongwu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cole manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cole lands a two punch combo.
Mauro Okongwu's cut is getting worse.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cole defending well as Okongwu loads up on a big left hand. Okongwu takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Okongwu lands a body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cole takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Cole walks into a stiff left hand from Okongwu. Cole misses with a hook
and Okongwu counters with a nice right hand that sends Cole toppling to the canvas! Cole scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Okongwu finish him?!
Cole is rocked!
White Cole's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at White Cole's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mauro Okongwu! Mauro Okongwu retains his heavyweight title! A relieved looking Mauro Okongwu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
