Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miet Cleever (ranked 270 p4p, 202 weight class) and David Hanson (ranked 38 p4p, 25 weight class). Hanson has chosen Subcouds - on red as his entrance music. Miet Cleever had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Miet Cleever! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, David Hanson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Hanson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cleever sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hanson somewhat. Cleever throwing a counter right hand but Hanson manages to avoid it. Cleever tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hanson was well out of range. Poor timing from Cleever. Hanson feints the counter takedown. Cleever throws a leg kick and Hanson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cleever! Hanson tries for a kimura but Cleever is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cleever tries to buck Hanson off but Hanson is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanson is trying to get an arm triangle but Cleever is defending well. Hanson tries for an arm triangle. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hanson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cleever has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hanson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cleever doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hanson. Cleever trying to hold on to Hanson's head to control him but Hanson postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hanson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
It looks like Miet Cleever has been cut. Hanson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cleever's head. Hanson is working for a kimura but Cleever is defending it quite comfortably.
Cleever gets full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hanson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hanson throwing strikes from guard but Cleever blocks nicely. Cleever avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hanson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hanson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cleever has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanson has managed to get both his arms back between Cleever's legs - danger averted. Hanson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cleever wants to stand up but Hanson is controlling him. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
David Hanson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Miet Cleever's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Hanson defending well as Cleever loads up on a big left hand. And Hanson tries to counter it with a takedown but Cleever pushes his down on his head and steps out. Cleever just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cleever moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hanson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hanson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hanson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hanson wants to pass the guard but Cleever is keeping the position. Hanson throws a big right hand that misses. Cleever wants to stand up but Hanson is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hanson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hanson won't allow Cleever to get back to his feet. Hanson is looking to work some ground and pound but Cleever has wrist control. Cleever wants to sweep but no luck. Hanson trying to move into half guard but instead Cleever has managed to sweep!
Hanson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cleever is aware though and is defending well. David Hanson has got the better of the ground game so far. Cleever not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hanson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cleever has picked Hanson up and slammed him! Hanson can't keep hold of the triangle and Cleever manages to pass to side control! Cleever decides to take the fight back to the feet. Hanson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cleever's half guard. Hanson wants to work for an arm triangle but Cleever is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cleever makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. No luck with that takedown attempt from Hanson. Cleever appears to be looking for a big counter. Cleever connects with the punch.

This has been an exciting period of action! Cleever slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Hanson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cleever is looking to stand up but Hanson isn't so interested in that idea. Cleever wants to sweep but no luck.

Cleever throws a leg kick that is checked and Hanson counters with a shoot takedown. Cleever fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cleever keeping full guard, as Hanson tries to pass. Cleever wants to stand up but Hanson is controlling him. Hanson passes Cleever's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Cleever is looking to control Hanson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cleever avoid being mounted? Cleever is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
And that's the end of the fight! Miet Cleever showed his dominance in that final round. I think Cleever has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
