Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Lake (ranked 24218 p4p, 4541 weight class) and Jari Sillanpaa (ranked 294 p4p, 254 weight class). Sillanpaa has chosen Jari Sillanpää-Satulinna as his entrance music. Jari Sillanpaa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Lake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jari Sillanpaa! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sillanpaa throws a front kick that sends Lake stumbling back into the cage. Lake shoots in but no luck this time. Lake looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sillanpaa wants to get back to his feet.
Sillanpaa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sillanpaa makes his way to full guard, as Lake worked for a kimura.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sillanpaa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lake is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Dillo's Deadly Dojo that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Lake wants to control from the top but Sillanpaa keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sillanpaa throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sillanpaa controls Lake momentarily but Lake frees himself. Lake might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lake trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sillanpaa tries to strike from the bottom.
Lake is stalling in the full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Lake wants to pass the guard but Sillanpaa is keeping the position. Lake trying to control the position from guard on top but Sillanpaa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lake closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lake lands in his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lake wants to control from the top but Sillanpaa keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lake slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Lake drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lake jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lake is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lake trying to control the position from guard on top but Sillanpaa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sillanpaa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lake controls the pace. Lake is standing up over Sillanpaa. Sillanpaa looks to escape but Lake dives into side control.
Lake is staying tight to Sillanpaa's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lake tries for a kimura but Sillanpaa is defending well. Lake is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sillanpaa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sillanpaa keeps working. Sillanpaa wants to control but Lake postures up. Sillanpaa is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Lake is staying active. We've been informed that Sillanpaa has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Lake prevents Sillanpaa from escaping the position. Lake wants to control but Sillanpaa is keeping him busy. Sillanpaa wants to get back to his feet but Lake drags him back down. Sillanpaa is not content to let Lake control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sillanpaa is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Lake trying to control the position but Sillanpaa is working away. Lake taking a breather here. Lake looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sillanpaa keeps working.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Lake is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sillanpaa will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Lake is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sillanpaa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Lake swings around for an armbar but Sillanpaa sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lake's guard. Sillanpaa lands a couple of elbows. Sillanpaa is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Lake has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Sillanpaa is looking to defend but Lake has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Sillanpaa! Lake pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Sillanpaa taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jack Lake! A relieved looking Jack Lake thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. Jari Sillanpaa spoke after the fight, saying 'Run away, now! '.
