Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Farquharson (ranked 322 p4p, 327 weight class) and Edgars Al Dariush (ranked 48 p4p, 49 weight class). Edgars Al Dariush will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Duncan Farquharson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edgars Al Dariush! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Al Dariush is predictable there and Farquharson counters with a nice double leg into guard. Farquharson tries to free his leg and advance position but Al Dariush is retaining full guard. Farquharson trying to control but Al Dariush is working from the bottom. Farquharson is in close to Al Dariush's body, working some short punches and elbows. Farquharson stands up over Al Dariush, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Farquharson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Farquharson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Farquharson wants to control from the top but Al Dariush keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Farquharson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Al Dariush utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Farquharson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Al Dariush has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Farquharson is looking to defend but Al Dariush has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Farquharson! Al Dariush pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Farquharson taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Edgars Al Dariush! Edgars Al Dariush decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
