Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anton Messier (ranked 3016 p4p, 2515 weight class) and Edd Norton (ranked 370 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anton Messier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edd Norton!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messier throws a right and a left that both miss.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Norton is pressed up against the cage. Messier has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Norton down to the mat. Norton avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Messier staying out of range there.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Norton wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Norton moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Norton content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Messier tries to stall but Norton uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Messier tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Messier is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Norton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Messier looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Messier has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Norton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Norton lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

It looks like Anton Messier has been cut.
Messier tries to pull guard but Norton holds him up against the cage and eventually Messier drops back down to his feet.

Messier has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Norton after a bit of a struggle.

Norton throws a series of punches but Messier avoids them all with ease.
Anton Messier has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Messier uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Norton.
Messier appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Norton gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Norton gets underhooks to prevent Messier's takedown attempt.
