Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kareem Johnson (ranked 69 p4p, 293 weight class) and Royal Halsti (ranked 13 p4p, 45 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kareem Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Royal Halsti!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Halsti.

It looks like Kareem Johnson has been cut.
Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Halsti.
A little jabbing left from Halsti on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Halsti scores with a nice strike.
Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Halsti should have avoided that one.

It looks like Royal Halsti has been cut.

Halsti dives in and scores a takedown into Johnson's guard.
Halsti postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Halsti has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Halsti passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Halsti wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
Johnson is trying to get back to half guard.

Halsti tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Halsti has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Halsti wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.

Halsti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Halsti fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Halsti tries to advance position but instead Johnson slips a leg back in to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Halsti works his foot free and advances to mount.

Halsti goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Johnson is on top in guard.
Halsti lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Halsti won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.

Halsti throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Halsti wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
Halsti throwing strikes from guard but Johnson blocks nicely.
Halsti wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Halsti throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Halsti is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Halsti postures up in Johnson's guard and throws a big left but Johnson blocks it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Halsti controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.

Royal Halsti dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Halsti lunges at Johnson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Johnson's hand.

Halsti has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Halsti appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Johnson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Johnson misses with a straight right.
Halsti looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Halsti throws a front kick aimed at Johnson's knee but Johnson avoids it well.

Halsti takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kareem Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Johnson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Halsti sees it coming and avoids it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson throws an overhand right that lands on Halsti's shoulder, as Halsti tries to avoid the shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Halsti. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johnson thinks about countering with a head kick.
Johnson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss.
The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Halsti doesn't seem phased though.

That has opened up Royal Halsti's cut even more.
Halsti throws a poor cross that misses
and Johnson counters with a two punch combo.
Kareem Johnson is winning the standup battle so far.
Johnson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Halsti.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Halsti jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Halsti throws an off balance right hand
and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand.
Johnson throws a lazy right hand but Halsti sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
As Johnson backs off Halsti throws a huge counter combo but Johnson manages to avoid it all.

A slow jab from Halsti misses its intended target.
Halsti takes one to the side of the head.
A punch lands to the side of Halsti 's head but he takes it in his stride.

The cut above Royal Halsti's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
Halsti moves into range and connects with a jab.
The fighters circling - Halsti throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
An attempted straight right counter from Johnson misses the target.
Halsti swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut.

Halsti looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.

Despite the aggression on Halsti's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Johnson looks to land a right hand but Halsti moved out of range.

Halsti looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Halsti appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

As Johnson backs off Halsti throws a huge counter combo but Johnson manages to avoid it all.

Johnson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Halsti takes a step back to recover.
Johnson lands a really nice looking cross but Halsti seems unphased.
Johnson scores with a punch to the head.

Royal Halsti's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Halsti throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Royal Halsti's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Kareem Johnson!
Kareem Johnson decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
