Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kieran Ware (ranked 2577 p4p, 1893 weight class) and Marcelo Castro (ranked 274 p4p, 202 weight class). The key to victory for Kieran Ware has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kieran Ware!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Castro!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ware lands with a straight right. Castro didn't see that one coming.
Castro tries to clinch up but Ware circles away and keeps his distance.
Ware lands a glancing blow to the side of Castro's head.
Ware throws a body punch but Castro moves out of range.
Castro takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ware misses with a body shot.

Ware gets caught napping as Castro dives in and scores a takedown. Ware manages to retain guard.
Castro seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ware knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Castro on the ground.
Ware wants to stand up but Castro is controlling him.
Castro controls from within his opponent's guard.

Ware wants to sweep here but Castro controlling him for the moment.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Castro makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Ware will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ware can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Castro controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ware swings for the body but Castro moves out of range.
Castro throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ware lands a nice hook to Castro's body. Castro takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Nice shot lands for Ware.
Kieran Ware seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Castro misses with a takedown attempt - Ware sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Castro connects with the punch.
Ware throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Castro walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Ware is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Ware displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Castro throws out the jab.

Castro doesn't manage to clinch there - Ware circles away.

Ware tries to counter with a takedown but Castro is quick to defend against it.
Castro takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Castro looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Castro tries to clinch but Ware is having none of it.

Ware avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ware tests Castro's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Castro throws a hook to the side of Ware's head but Ware sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Castro shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Castro prevents Ware from standing back up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ware wants to control but Castro is keeping busy.
Castro slows the pace down in half guard.
Castro stops Ware from getting back to his feet.

Castro is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ware wants to get back to full guard but Castro has passed into side control.
Ware on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

The referee asks Castro politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Castro prefers to stall for the moment though.
Castro cracks Ware with a big elbow.
Castro passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ware!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

That was a close round but I would say that Kieran Ware will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Ware avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ware slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ware cracks Castro with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ware walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Castro manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ware on his heels. He'll look to pass Ware's guard now, I'm sure.

Ware definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Ware trying desperately to get to his feet.
Castro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Let's hope that Castro has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Ware wants to control but Castro is having none of it.
Castro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Castro has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Castro swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
