Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Romero (ranked 1022 p4p, 476 weight class) and Katsu Yamasaki (ranked 81 p4p, 38 weight class). Katsu Yamasaki will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ernesto Romero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Katsu Yamasaki! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Yamasaki throws an overhand right that lands on Romero's shoulder, as Romero tries to avoid the shot. Romero tries to close the distance and clinch but Yamasaki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Romero is looking to clinch. Romero misses with a looping right. Yamasaki tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Romero is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Yamasaki lands a jab. Romero moves in looking to clinch but Yamasaki pushes him off. Romero has Yamasaki up against the cage in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Romero fails to land. Romero swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Yamasaki blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yamasaki can't get the takedown.
Yamasaki goes for a takedown attempt but Romero pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Romero counters with a stiff right hand. The fight moves into the clinch position. Yamasaki blocking some punches.
Yamasaki is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Romero is defending well. Ernesto Romero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Katsu Yamasaki.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero has a couple of punches blocked by Yamasaki.
Yamasaki wants a takedown.
Romero lands a shoulder strike. Yamasaki blocks an uppercut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Yamasaki has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Romero throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Yamasakis head. Romero throws a punch but it's blocked by Yamasaki. Yamasaki can't get the takedown.

Romero scores with a shot to the side of Yamasaki's head. Yamasaki blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Romero escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Romero moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Romero tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Yamasaki circles away from the clinch attempt and Yamasaki counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Romero is trying to stand back up but Yamasaki is controlling him
Yamasaki is pressing down on Romero's thigh, looking to free his foot. Romero is holding on for now. Romero has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Yamasaki is working away from the top position though. Yamasaki is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Yamasaki stalling away here and it's allowed Romero to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamasaki wants to pass the guard but Romero is keeping the position. Romero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Yamasaki drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Romero manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Yamasaki has Romero in his guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Yamasaki is looking for a triangle but Romero pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yamasaki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Romero defends it easily. Romero preventing the sweep. Romero knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yamasaki on the ground. Romero is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Yamasaki has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Romero is looking to defend but Yamasaki has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Romero! Yamasaki pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Romero taps out and this one is all over!
