PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Light Guy (ranked 23975 p4p, 23831 weight class) and Light Mann (ranked 300 p4p, 295 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Light Guy has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Light Guy seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mann connects with a body shot that sends Guy's belly button to the back.
Guy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mann is looking to clinch.
Mann looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mann misses with a low kick as Guy jumps back.
Guy was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Mann closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Guy's guard.

Guy decides to stand and escape the position.
Mann throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little feinted left hand from Guy on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Mann throws a low kick, looking for Guy's leg but Guy calmly moves out of range.
Mann is looking to score with low kicks.
Mann on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Mann lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Mann with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Guy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Light Mann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mann has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Guy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Guy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mann throws a lazy right hand but Guy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

It looked like Guy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Mann throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Guy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mann is in Guy's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mann is working for a kimura but Guy is defending it quite comfortably.

Mann takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Mann wants to free his trapped foot but Guy is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mann is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Mann with the ground and pound but Guy uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Light Guy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Guy throws a hook to the side of Mann's head but Mann sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mann bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Guy throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Guy's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Light Guy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Light Mann is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Guy is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Mann can't get the takedown.
Mann has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Guy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Mann has Guy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Guy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mann throws a punch but it's blocked by Guy.

Guy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Guy cracks Mann with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Guy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mann to stand back up!
Mann is still on wobbly legs! Can Guy finish him?

It looks like Light Mann has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Guy keeps the fight on the outside.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Light Guy.
Well Mann has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
