Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Roth (ranked 3421 p4p, 3523 weight class) and Austin Shannon (ranked 341 p4p, 351 weight class). Roth comes to the cage accompanied by Straight Back to It. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eddie Roth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Austin Shannon!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shannon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Roth moves away.
Roth takes a swing at Shannon's ribcage but misses.
Shannon looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Roth rushes Shannon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Roth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A body shot lands from Roth.
Roth lands a left hand.
Shannon pulls guard successfully.
Roth keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shannon's head.
Roth stands and steps away. Shannon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Shannon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Roth walks away with a smile on his face. Shannon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Shannon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
