Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ruslan Beznisko (ranked 1364 p4p, 1167 weight class) and Herio Lupsaka (ranked 164 p4p, 146 weight class). Beznisko comes to the cage accompanied by JANE AIR — Junk. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Beznisko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Herio Lupsaka!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beznisko scores with a nice strike.
Beznisko checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lupsaka takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Beznisko darts in looking for a takedown but Lupsaka gets double underhooks and turns Beznisko into the cage.
Lupsaka has a couple of punches blocked by Beznisko.

Beznisko has Lupsaka pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Beznisko pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lupsaka tumbling to the mat - Beznisko dives into Lupsaka's guard.
Lupsaka is looking to stand back up but Beznisko counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lupsaka.

Lupsaka is trying to maintain the position but Beznisko is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beznisko throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Beznisko lands with a punch from half guard.
Beznisko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Beznisko is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Lupsaka is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Beznisko connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Lupsaka tries to lock up and control but Beznisko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Lupsaka keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Beznisko is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lupsaka can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lupsaka wants to control but Beznisko is having none of it.
Beznisko in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Beznisko lands a big elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Beznisko lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Beznisko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Beznisko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Beznisko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Beznisko is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lupsaka to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lupsaka shrugs it off.

Lupsaka is rocked!
Beznisko loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Lupsaka scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Beznisko land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Beznisko stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ruslan Beznisko!
