Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malig Mferi (ranked 1135 p4p, 2420 weight class) and Kevin Taylor (ranked 127 p4p, 258 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Malig Mferi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kevin Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mferi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Taylor swings wildly with an uppercut but Mferi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mferi breaks the clinch.
Taylor feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mferis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Taylor smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Nice shot lands for Taylor.
Taylor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mferi.

Mferi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mferi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Mferi counters with a nice body shot.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Taylor has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Mferi feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Taylor sprawling to the canvas! Taylor rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mferi finish him?!
It looks like Kevin Taylor has been cut.
Taylor has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

I was talking to Mferi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Taylor seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Mferi shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Taylor is backing up but Mferi catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Taylor covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Mferi Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
