Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Nichols!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daroshev Faroshev!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nichols lands a nice looking body shot.
Faroshev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nichols getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Nichols wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Faroshev with a poor takedown
enabling Nichols to counter with a crisp jab.
Faroshev has his takedown stuffed
and Nichols counters with a straight right hand.
Faroshev gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Nichols connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Paul Nichols has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daroshev Faroshev.
Faroshev swings away with a body shot that misses
and Nichols counters with a stiff right hand.
Faroshev darts in trying to clinch
and Nichols cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Faroshev is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nichols lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Faroshev head around and knocks him out cold! Nichols hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paul Nichols!
