Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phoenix Peterson (ranked 1080 p4p, 618 weight class) and Samson Buddha (ranked 137 p4p, 82 weight class). Peterson comes to the cage accompanied by Bulls On Parade- Rage Against the Machine. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phoenix Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Samson Buddha! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Chris Dean and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson misses with a kick to the body.
Peterson scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Buddha feints and then cracks Peterson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Peterson down. Good exchange - Buddha coming out on top. Buddha misses the jab. Buddha throws a leg kick which misses Peterson's front leg but catches the back leg as Peterson tries to avoid it. Buddha with a jab. Buddha uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peterson.
Buddha has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Peterson. Buddha has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Peterson throws a looping overhand right but Buddha ducks down to avoid it. Buddha listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Buddha stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Peterson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Buddha counters with a thumping low kick. Peterson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Peterson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Peterson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Peterson throws a looping overhand right but Buddha ducks down to avoid it. Peterson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buddha shoots in for a double leg but Peterson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Buddha digs a good hook to Peterson's body.
Peterson misses with an uppercut. Buddha saw that one coming. Peterson misses with a kick to the body.
Peterson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Buddha takes a step back to recover. Peterson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Peterson throws a head kick but Buddha moves out of range.
Buddha changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Phoenix Peterson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Buddha works the jab nicely. Buddha throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Buddha sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Peterson looks to score with a jab to the body but Buddha is just out of range. Peterson tries a head kick but it misses.
Peterson tries a low kick but Buddha avoids it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Buddha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Buddha on the wrong end of a nice jab. Peterson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Peterson throws a leg kick but Buddha moved away. A punch lands to the side of Peterson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Peterson works Buddha's body with a nice hook. An inside leg kick from Peterson misses. Buddha thinks about the counter body kick. Buddha slips under a jab. Buddha avoids the head kick by Peterson.
Buddha fails with the takedown. Peterson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Peterson scores with a punch to the head. Buddha fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Peterson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Buddha moves out of range of the leg kick from Peterson. Peterson throws the left hand but Buddha avoids the punch easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buddha takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Peterson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Buddha fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Peterson misses with a wild body shot. Buddha is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Peterson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Buddha will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Buddha checks a leg kick. Nice uppercut lands for Peterson. That snapped Buddha's head back.
Peterson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Buddha lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Peterson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Peterson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Buddha lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Buddha takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Buddha looks to score with a jab to the body but Peterson is just out of range. Peterson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Peterson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Peterson wants to hit a sweep here but Buddha passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Peterson there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peterson is bucking up trying to escape but Buddha cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Peterson is trying to reverse the position but instead Buddha has taken his back - oops! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Buddha is punishing Peterson with strikes - can he finish him?! Peterson is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Buddha is persistently looking for the submission but Peterson is defending it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Will Buddha go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Samson Buddha dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Peterson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Peterson wants to land a leg kick but Buddha is out of range. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Peterson digs a good body shot into Buddha's ribs. Buddha shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peterson but Peterson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Peterson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Buddha momentarily.
Peterson lunges at Buddha with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Buddha's hand. Peterson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Peterson swings for the body but Buddha moves out of range.
Peterson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Phoenix Peterson is winning the standup battle so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buddha throws the kick towards the body but Peterson avoids it. Buddha throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Peterson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Buddha to score with a decent uppercut. Buddha keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Buddha looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Buddha takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buddha stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Peterson. Buddha takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Buddha throws a low kick but Peterson moves out of range easily. Peterson is looking to chop away at Buddha's legs. Buddha throws an overhand right that lands on Peterson's shoulder, as Peterson tries to avoid the shot. Peterson scores with a shot to the body.
Peterson misses with a looping right. Peterson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Buddha is out of range. A bone on bone clash there as Peterson blocks the leg kick.

Buddha misses with a takedown attempt and Peterson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Peterson thumps Buddha with a low kick. A head kick misses from Peterson. No luck for Buddha with that takedown attempt. Phoenix Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samson Buddha. A slow jab from Buddha misses its intended target. Peterson just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peterson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Buddha can pounce on him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice body punch from Buddha. Buddha throws a hook but Peterson blocks it. Buddha lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Peterson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Buddha tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A looping hook to the body misses from Buddha. Peterson does a little dance to reset his feet. Peterson throws a series of punches but Buddha avoids them all with ease. Peterson misses the jab. Donk. Peterson catches Buddha right on the button with a cross. Buddha throws a leg kick which misses Peterson's front leg but catches the back leg as Peterson tries to avoid it. Buddha keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Peterson. Peterson throws an overhand right that lands on Buddha's shoulder, as Buddha tries to avoid the shot. Buddha throws a jab but it's blocked by Peterson. Buddha lands with a nice body kick. A momentary lapse in concentration from Peterson enables Buddha to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peterson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Peterson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Peterson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Buddha. Peterson trying to control the position.
Peterson is controlling Buddha's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Buddha loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Buddha walks forward, straight into a front kick from Peterson. Peterson misses with a low kick. Buddha clobbers Peterson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Buddha lands with a nice body punch. Buddha looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Peterson appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Peterson moves away from the strike by Buddha. Buddha uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peterson.
Buddha lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Peterson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Buddhas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Buddha checks a low kick from Peterson. Buddha scores with a crisp jab that stopped Peterson in his tracks. Buddha moves out of range of the leg kick from Peterson. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Phoenix Peterson will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Peterson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Buddha. Buddha obviously looking to wear him down.

Peterson's corner calls for a 1-2. Peterson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Buddha works the jab nicely. Peterson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Buddha.

Peterson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Peterson throws a low kick, looking for Buddha's leg but Buddha calmly moves out of range. Peterson misses with a right hand and Buddha makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Peterson seems to have got his legs back now. Buddha lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Peterson throws a solid leg kick but Buddha takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Peterson.

A good leg kick by Buddha. Peterson misses with a looping right. Buddha throws a body punch but Peterson moves out of range. Peterson scores with a jab to the jaw. Peterson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Buddha scores with a nice head shot. Peterson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Buddha. Peterson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Buddha ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Peterson connects with a single shot there. Peterson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Nice straight punches there by Peterson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Peterson. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Buddha displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Peterson throws out the jab. Nice uppercut there from Peterson. Peterson looks to score with a jab to the body but Buddha is just out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice shot by Buddha. Peterson lands a glancing blow to the side of Buddha's head. Buddha lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Peterson looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Buddha misses the jab. Buddha moves out of range of the leg kick from Peterson. A little jabbing left from Buddha on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Buddha closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Peterson can't do much from the bottom here. Buddha working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Peterson manages to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson is positioning himself well to prevent Buddha advancing to mount. Buddha wants to pass to mount but Peterson is defending the position. Peterson is trying to get back to full guard. Peterson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Buddha. Peterson wants to control but Buddha is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Buddha seems to be working for a kimura but Peterson defends the submission attempt. Buddha is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Peterson defends it well. Buddha trying to control the action but Peterson is working from the bottom. Buddha is thwarting Peterson's attempts to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Samson Buddha comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Buddha has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
