Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Feather Jay Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josie Saltzman!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saltzman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Saltzman wants it to stay on the feet.
Jones misses with a body shot.

Saltzman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jones on his heels. He'll look to pass Jones's guard now, I'm sure.
Saltzman wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saltzman on the ground.
Saltzman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We've been hearing good reports from Jones's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Saltzman tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Saltzman has passed into half guard!

Saltzman tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it.
Jones wants to control but Saltzman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jones tries to roll over but Saltzman keeps him under control.
Saltzman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Saltzman stalling.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Saltzman pulls his head out easily.

Jones looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Saltzman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Saltzman seems content to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Saltzman has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jones tries to reverse the position but Saltzman maintains control.
Saltzman controlling from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Jones is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Jones tries to escape but Saltzman has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Jones has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Saltzman.
Saltzman somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saltzman trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Jones doesn't escape.

Saltzman has his arm under Jones's chin here. Game over son! Saltzman squeezes tightly and Jones is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Josie Saltzman!
Josie Saltzman seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
